My Super Cookies Blueberry Vanilla Hero Whole Grain Cookies: These are surprisingly tasty whole grain cookies that contain a bunch of ingredients not normally associate with cookies like quinoa and chia seeds. They have a distinctively sweet blueberry flavor that tastes truer to the fruit than blueberry cereal bars. The serving size is small, and they are kind of expensive (I got them when they were on sale at Whole Foods), but otherwise I recommend trying them. 3.5/5.0

365 Chocolate Almond Pudding: I usually go straight to the snack aisle to look for new snacks to try, but I came across these pudding cups accidentally while walking through the dairy aisle at Whole Foods. While they are overly sweet (20g of sugar per cup), the flavor is great – creamy and nutty with a satisfyingly rich cocoa flavor. The texture is a little more set than your typical pudding cup, which I personally prefer. If it were less sweet, this would be my go-to snack on the rare case I'm looking for a chocolate... Lesser Evil Himalayan Salt and Apple Cider Vinegar Paleo Puffs: This is the second flavor of Paleo Puffs that I’ve tried, which are sometimes on sale at Whole Foods (that’s when I buy them). A more mild version salt and vinegar flavored chips, and much healthier at that, made without any grains and in puffed form (similar to cheese puffs, but more dense). It’s pretty tasty, and I would get it again. 3.5/5.0

Snacklins Chesapeake Bay Vegan Cracklings: These vegan chicharrones made of mushroom and yuca are like the Impossible Burger of the cracklings world. The texture is remarkably similar to the traditional meat-based snack; they’re light and crispy, and they have that slightly oily coating. Unfortunately, the only problem is that this particular flavor is extremely salty, with an over seasoned old-bay-spiced coating that makes them hard to eat much of, though this bag is meant to be single serving (it’s not resealable). Too bad, because... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Annie’s Organic cheddar cheesy smiles: Like many American kids, I grew up eating Kraft boxed mac and cheese, which I still find appealing today. In grad school, with my limited budget, I upgraded to Annie’s mac and cheese. My favorite is their Yummy Cheese flavor with bunny-shaped pasta. This cheese puff snack, made with organic cheddar, tastes just like their Mac and Cheese with a slightly creamier flavor than normal cheese puffs while still maintaining the sharp cheddar taste I love. Very yummy - would purchase again. 4.0/5.0

Lesser Evil No cheese paleo puffs : Here’s a surprisingly good find at Whole Foods. Letter Evil now has a line of paleo-friendly snacks that contain no grains or cheese (and are thus gluten-free and vegan). While the beige-colored macaroni-shaped pieces look a bit like maggots, they have a consistency slightly crunchier than crunchy Cheetos and a mildly sharp cheese flavor that builds over time. Kind of like how the soy mac and cheese flavor of Amy’s frozen pasta is better than their normal cheese flavor, this snack has a dist... (read more) 4.0/5.0
