Kellogg's Hershey Matcha ChocoBIts: It's fun to discover new products and brands in Japan, but there are also a lot of familiar brands offering different items especially for the Japanese market. Dydo Grandtime Vanilla Drink: I found this in a Dydo-branded vending machine at the Tameiko-Sanno Subway Station in Tokyo and decided to give it a try. I couldn't read the Japanese, but I guessed that it was flavored like vanilla ice cream from the graphic on the can. Fujiya Nectar peach drink: This can of peach juice is not carbonated and has a consistency thicker than most vending machine beverages. It is extremely sweet and reminds me of peach-flavored hard candies I had growing up from the Asian supermarket. It's a classic drink, but overall I found it to be pretty average. 2.5/5.0

Fujiya Lemon Squash Soda: This is a classic lemon soda that can be purchased in Japanese vending machines. From what I understand, Fujiya is a food conglomerate that makes many popular, long-standing snacks and drinks. This lemon soda tastes a little bit like sprite but with a more pungent citrus flavor. It's definitely really sweet, but it's well carbonated and refreshing. I'd get it again! 3.5/5.0

Mont Thabor Hot dog bread with cabbage: I ate this for my last lunch in Azabu Juban, purchased at the neighborhood bakery Mont Thabor. For some reason, a lot of asian pastry shops feature hot dogs in their savory breads. This hot dog bread had sour cabbage on top along with a drizzle of ketchup. It pretty much tasted exactly as it looks: salty from the hot dog, bitter from the cabbage, and sweet from the tomato ketchup. 3.0/5.0
