Ring Baked Tofu Donuts Adzuki Donut: Ring is a donut shop in Los Angeles I've been wanting to try for a long time but haven't until now because it's a bit out of the way in Canoga Park. Their vegan donuts are made from tofu from Meiji Tofu (previously reviewed on Tasty Snacking) along with other high quality local ingredients. Located in an office park, it has a small storefront with a variety of Japanese flavored donuts as well as a selection of house-made beverages. I tried three different donuts which I'll write reviews o... (read more) 4.0/5.0

After dusting off more than half the sugar, I found the room-temperature churro to be completely average in texture and flavor. Purchased from Cars Land in Disney’s California Adventure. 2.0/5.0

Nonetheless, my family decided to try one of the park's newest snack offerings: Groot jalapeno bread. About a foot tall, the bread is served at room temperature and consists of cheddar cheese and jalapeno "hair," neutral bread as the face and eyebrows, and olive eyes. It had obviously been sitting out for several... (read more) 2.5/5.0

Like combining banana nut bread with gingerbread, it’s the best of both worlds. Very buttery but tasty as a result. A great find from Whole Foods. 3.5/5.0

Mr Boba is a small, humble shop with an expansive menu of slush, milk tea, and coffee options. I purchase a mystery mixed grain slush with boba, the ingredients of which the employee didn’t even know. In the end, it tasted like the powdered cereal packs you can get at asian grocery stores that you mix with hot water to give you a loose porridge consistency. You can commonly find them with a mix of ground barley and black sesame. As a s... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Korea’s is bingsu, a dessert often topped with red bean, fruit, and condensed milk. I had my first experience trying bingsu today in Los Angeles’s Koreatown at a chain from Korea called Sul & Beans. My sister and I shared an enormous black sesame shaved ice (there is only one size), which was dusted with black sesame powder and topped with red bean, c... (read more) 3.5/5.0
