Bottega Italiana Pear and Grapefruit Mint Sorbet: Bottega Italiana is a little ice cream shop about a five minute walk from Pike Place. After a filling dinner of fried fish and chips from Ivar's, I wanted a sharp fruit sorbet and opted for one scoop with two flavors: a white pear sorbet, sweet and concentrated, and a grapefruit mint, which had a terrific acidity and refreshing, balanced amount of mint. Salmonberry Goods Sweet Onion Cookie: Purchased this sizable cookie from the Salmonberry Goods stand at the Ballard Farmer's Market in Seattle. There was a bit of a line, but things moved quickly. I can never pass up a chance to try sweets flavored with vegetables, and this onion cookie was definitely unforgettable. It perfectly balances the sweet and savory flavor of caramelized onions and had a great crumbly yet rich, buttery consistency. Salmonberry Goods Plum Kombucha: I got this drink alongside the sweet onion cookie I previously reviewed, and even among the many kombucha options in Seattle, this one stands out as one of the best. Wunderground Brainwash mushroom vanilla latte: This weekend, cafe Wunderground opened in Capitol Hill with a menu featuring mushroom-based beverages using ingredients such as lion's mane and cordecyps. They offered free beverages and pastries during their opening, and while I usually don't drink coffee, I had to give their signature Brainwash mushroom latte a try. Iggy's Hawthorn Rose Honeybrew Kombucha: Iggy's is a kombucha brand from Bainbridge Island in Washington that's distinctly sweetened with honey. This particular can, purchased at PCC, has cardamom and myrrh (a tree sap), giving it a uniquely floral, fruity, and spiced blend. A standout flavor that doesn't quite taste like anything I've had before. Highly recommended. 4.5/5.0
