Tia Lupita Foods Cactus Salsa Verde Tortilla Chips: Made with cactus, these tortilla chips have an extra crispy and light texture that's quite addictive. The salsa verde flavor is punchy on its own, with acidic tomatillo and a bit of heat (no need for an extra jar of salsa). Excited to try some other flavors from this brand! 3.5/5.0

Iggy's Hawthorn Rose Honeybrew Kombucha: Iggy's is a kombucha brand from Bainbridge Island in Washington that's distinctly sweetened with honey. This particular can, purchased at PCC, has cardamom and myrrh (a tree sap), giving it a uniquely floral, fruity, and spiced blend. A standout flavor that doesn't quite taste like anything I've had before. Highly recommended. 4.5/5.0

12 Tides Chili Pepper Puffed Kelp Chilps: These kelp chips have a texture similar to asian rice crackers but a little more dense (cassava and tapioca flour form the base). I haven't had kelp-based chips before, and I expected them to taste a bit like seaweed, but the chili pepper seasoning was way too overpowering – like eating paprika and cayenne spice directly. 2.0/5.0

Acme Valley Strawberry Ice Cream: This ice cream was available for free through a promotion at PCC, a PNW co-op that's kind of like a more expensive Whole Foods with local produce and products. I don't generally shop there but thought I'd take advantage of the free pint. Acme is a Washington-based company that advertises its ice cream as Full Strength with "one-of-a-kind rich taffy-like texture." Unfortunately, it isn't like Turkish ice cream, which is what I thought it looked like from the photograph on the label, but it... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Hardbite Eat Your Parsnips Lightly-Salted Parsnip Chips: These are literally strips of parsnip that have been cooked in avocado oil and lightly seasoned. Thin and crispy, golden brown (some a little on the darker side, giving it a slightly bitter, burnt flavor), they taste like portable root vegetables and have the distinct sweetness you'd expect from parsnip. I personally like parsnips a lot, but I don't see myself purchasing these again because they were pretty pricy (close to $5 a bag), and I think I still just prefer baked parsnips (not frie... Mooala Keto Mylk unsweetened original: I didn’t read the packaging carefully on this non dairy drink, which I picked up in the refrigerated aisle next to soy milk, and assumed it was meant to be drunk like a normal glass of milk. But the label suggests adding it to smoothies, pancakes, and puddings as a milk substitute. Consisting of nuts, seeds, and coconut milk, the Keto Mylk is thinner than regular non-dairy drinks and has a prominent coconut flavor, making it somewhat unpalatable for drinking on its own. But I used it in plac... (read more) 3.0/5.0
