Good Crisps Sour cream and onion potato crisps: Blatantly mimicking a popular product whose heyday likely passed in the late 90s, this tube of potato crisps takes a gmo- and artificial-flavors-free approach to junk food. It's a less salty but otherwise uncannily familiar flavor, down to the curved shape, crispy texture, and classic sour cream and onion flavor. You would think there might be patents to cover these signature attributes, but Good Crisps has somehow gotten away with it. The result is a product that has a 1.5x markup from its ... 365 Organic Apple Cinnamon Animal Crackers: A fresh take on a classic childhood favorite, these abstractly-shaped animal cookies are especially yummy. More mild than your typical apple cinnamon flavored snack. Just a tad sweet. A welcome addition to the standard vanilla, chocolate, and honey cookie alternatives. 4.0/5.0

Cheeseboard Corn Cherry Scone: Wholly satisfying combination of textures, with a slightly crusty baked exterior, soft but grainy textured interior (from the cornmeal), and plump and tart cherry halves scattered throughout, Areas of sugar coating seem extraneous, as it is just sweet enough without. A nice sweet baked good that's substantial but not heavy. 3.5/5.0

iTea Honey aloe green tea: At 30% sweetness, this drink still had a prominent but not overpowering honey flavor, but not as much tea as I would prefer. The aloe is gelatinous and plump, with a satisfying bite. Purchased at the iTea on Kearny in San Francisco, which I've found to be dependably good. 3.0/5.0

The Daily Crave Smoked Gouda Lentil Chips: Fully flavored veggie chips for those seeking a cheesy snack beyond cheddar. Large rectangular shape and hearty bite. The packaging suggests pairing with a dip, but they are deliciously addictive on their own. A worthy replacement for potato chips, and a much healthier alternative at that. 4.0/5.0

Mai's Bakery Banh Tu Quy: An assortment of generously-sized glutinous-rice-flour-based desserts purchased from Saigon Sandwich in the Tenderloin, SF. More gelatinous and firm than typical mochi desserts, it has a consistency somewhere between mochi and jello. All four in this combo pack had a mild mung bean or taro filling, two were coated in shaved coconut, and the black had an herbal jelly flavor. The best was the chestnut-colored mochi with coconut, but all were tasty in their own right. Good value; tastes home... (read more) 3.5/5.0
