Michel et Augustin Milk chocolate and melt caramel shortbread cookie squares: About the size of a candy bar, this snack consists of four 1.5" square-shaped shortbread cookies, each with a generous milk chocolate well and a thin layer of stretchy salted caramel sandwiched underneath. Definitely one of the best store-bought cookies I've ever purchased. The shortbread have a perfect snap, and the balance of sweet and savory is ideal. Even though the caramel is thin, it has a rich, buttery flavor and flakes of salt that add texture. The cookies are made in France and ... (read more) 4.5/5.0

Suzie's Organic Saltines with salt and extra virgin olive oil: Though I've been maintaining Tasty Snacking for 6 years now, I haven't written a single review of saltines, though I've eaten them many times on off days. I realized it's largely because I typically purchase the Nabisco "Premium" saltines, which are adequate in their expected blandness – they manage to be both contradictorily crispy and soft, and they quickly dissolve into a soggy nothingness that makes them easy to digest. My stomach hasn't been doing so well over the past few days, so I ... (read more) 4.5/5.0

Clio Strawberry Greek Yogurt Bar: This is a really intriguing take on a chocolate bar alternative, consisting of a solid strawberry-flavored greek yogurt filling (its texture set somewhere between nougat and frozen yogurt as its refrigerated, but not frozen) coated with a thin shell of chocolate. Though it's fairly high in saturated fat (6g), it's overall healthier than a normal chocolate bar, with less sugar (10g sugar) and an impressive amount of nutrients (8g of protein, and over 100% of your daily recommended Vitamin C)... Nairn's Chocolate chip oat grahams: Lightly sweetened Scottish biscuits. The box contains four packs of individually wrapped snack packs (each with four oval-shaped biscuits). They're like Belvita breakfast crackers, but good - the oats maintain some of their texture even in biscuit form, and the chocolate flavor is just enough to feel like a treat. Strikes a balance between healthy and tasty. 4.0/5.0

Liebe Lemon Crush Bavarian Style Quark: Today I learned that Quark is a Bavarian crossover between yogurt and cream cheese, yielding a thick and creamy treat whose consistency is unparalleled in the yogurt aisles. The last time I had a yogurt this smooth, it was homemade at Sophie's Greek Pantry in Massachusetts. The Lemon Crush flavor has an impressively sweet and tart flavor; the entire container has 10g of sugar, so it's sweet but not too sweet. Definitely recommend and looking forward to trying the other flavors! 4.0/5.0

Galvanina Chinotto Italian Sparkling Beverage: This is unique organic citrus soda with "myrtle leaf orange flavor" (according to the ingredients list). The color of the soda is a dark brown, so I assumed it would taste like cola, but instead it's a very distinct citrus drink that tastes a bit bitter and slightly medicinal. I personally enjoy bitter drinks and appreciated that it wasn't too sweet overall. Would recommend if you're looking for an alternative soda! 4.0/5.0
