Lake Champlain Caramel Five Star bar: These "snack" bars always seem to be at the check out at Whole Foods. I'm not one to purchase chocolate on my own, but I received one for participating in a research study at my lab. Inside the fairly thick milk chocolate shell is a very sweet honey caramel mixed with nuts. R.W. Knudsen spiced pear drink: While this juice consists predominantly of apple and pear juice from concentrate, the flavor is undeniably festive and perfect for the late fall. Spiced cinnamon and clove add to this well balanced drink, which is good hot or cold. Definitely on the sweet side, but I still enjoyed it. 4.0/5.0

KurKure masala munch: Shaped exactly like crunchy cheetos, this corn snack forgoes cheese and instead has a satisfying, spiced coating that includes onion powder, garlic powder, and cumin. A manageable amount of heat that adds rather than detracts. From India. 3.0/5.0

Lay's India's Magic Masala: Another bag of chips brought back from India, this distinctive snack is flavored with turmeric, cumin, dry mango powder, and chili powder. It reminds me of some of the delicious fried potato straws I've had from Indian grocery stores. The flavor has heat but is more spiced than spicy. 3.0/5.0

Bearito's Cheddar Puffs: Baked cheddar corn puffs made with non-GMO verified ingredients. The cheddar coating is somewhat unevenly distributed; when I first opened the bag, the top was not very seasoned, but in the middle of the bag, the puffs were more thoroughly covered with cheese powder. The cheddar flavor is tangy and a little bit funky, like a health food cheese flavor (as opposed to a junk food one).
