The Laughing Cow White Cheddar Babybel Cheese: I miss those Laughing Cow mini cubes, readily available in the dairy aisle of the local supermarket in the 90s and even obtainable when traveling in Taiwan as a child. But I haven’t seen them in many years, except for in Canada where they still seem to be sold and in the UK, which I only know because there was a recent British ad campaign I found on YouTube. Volcano Tea House White peach oolong tea with boba: At 25% sweetness, this herbal oolong tea had a light and refreshing white peach flavor, though it did taste syrup-y. The boba was quite good-neither overly chewy or soft and just a tad sweet. Good enough that I would consider revisiting this Sawtelle-based bubble tea shop in the future. 3.0/5.0

The Little Kernel White cheddar popcorn: I had big hopes for Little Kernel, with its cute packaging and promise of kernel-free popcorn snacking. Unfortunately, while the fat content is quite high, I found the cheese flavor underwhelming and borderline bland. The kernels were small, though. 2.5/5.0

The Daily Crave Aged White Cheddar Lentil Chips: After the smashing success of the previous Daily Crave product I purchased (smoked Gouda), I picked up a more classic flavor at Berkeley Bowl. In this case, though, the lentil flavor dominates the more mild cheddar taste, making the chip more of a veggie snack than a cheese snack. Not as memorable or particularly worth trying. 3.0/5.0

Barbara's White Cheddar Cheese Puffs: More airy than Cheetos, Barbara's Cheese Puffs have a very mild cheddar flavor that is one of the least distinctive I've had. As a result, they are among the least satisfying of this junk-food classic. If you're looking for a healthier version of cheese puffs, these may be the ones.
