Natural Idea Finger Pancakes - Seaweed Flavor: My friend SengMing brought me this snack, which he purchased from 99 Ranch, an Asian supermarket. Directly translate to "Finger Pancakes" (there is no English on the label), these miniature biscuits are irregularly shaped and really do look like pancakes, with the same kind of coloration ( a darker toasted brown on the edges) that you get when you actually make pancakes on the stovetop. The sweet and savory seaweed flavor is super tasty and distinct, with a much more concentrated taste of ... (read more) 4.0/5.0

Calbee Grill-A-Corn Barbecue Flavor: Chinese corn chips that have a sweet barbecue flavor, a bit reminiscent of Shacha bbq sauce but more seasoned. The packaging suggests a grilled corn on the cob flavor, perhaps similar to that you can find, brushed with Shacha sauce, in night markets in Asia. Overall, a decent flavor, but not one I'd likely return to. Purchased from Hong Kong Supermarket. 3.0/5.0

From the Ground Up Nacho Flavor Cauliflower Crackers: For the past few months, I've been seeing these crackers in every supermarket I go to. They're made from cauliflower, but you wouldn't necessarily guess that from the flavor. The crackers are thin and crispy, dissimilar to the Cheez-Its they're shaped like, and the Nacho flavor tastes strongly of tomato, with some general vegetable-flavor (think Vegetable Thins) mixed in. Overall, with its orange color and square Cheez-Its shape, I was expecting it to taste like Nacho cheese, but it was m... (read more) 2.5/5.0

Lonely God Japanese Seaweed Flavor Potato Chips: A quintessential Chinese snack whose name is likely the result of a mistranslation, these auger-shaped potato snacks are about 1.5 larger than Frito flavor twists and slightly softer in texture. They're coated in a savory sweet seaweed powder. Purchased from Hong Kong Supermarket, they're one of the many examples of Asian snacks commonly found in 7-11s in Taiwan, but difficult to find in America. Overall, I wish the snack were crispier, and they are sweeter than I prefer for a savory snac... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Hot Kid Shelly Senbei Seaweed Flavor Rice Cracker: I grew up eating an assortment of Hot Kid rice cracker offerings, which I strongly believe are some of the best in terms of taste and value. This nori-flavored rice snack was new to me and did not disappoint. Each individually wrapped package contains two sizable rice crackers, at about 3.5" in diameter. A soy glaze coats the crackers, and strips of seaweed add to the savory flavor. One aspect I felt was missing was the sweetness you tend to get with other Hot Kid snacks, but I would sti... GoodBelly tropical green flavor probiotic drink: I really liked the cranberry watermelon flavor of this brand so I decided to purchase another kind to try. Unfortunately, this one is as bad as the other was good. The juice contains fruit purÓ║× such as banana, pear, and mango and greens such as spinach, alfalfa, and parsley. The flavor is not balanced and somehow manages to recreate the taste of aspartame with all natural ingredients. It's also overly sweet, perhaps to cover up the flavor of the vegetables. The result is a drink that neither... (read more) 1.5/5.0
