Koikeya Demonic Consomme Strong Potato Cihps: I wasn't sure of the exact flavor of these potato chips when I purchased them – the packaging features roasted onion, garlic, and chicken wings, all alongside a demo stirring a cauldron of beige-colored broth. I have had other potato chips from this line of Strong potato chips, ridged potato chips claiming to have a more robust flavor offering than normal Koikeya chips. These tasted largely of sweet onion and black pepper to me, and after looking up the actual flavor from the Japanese on t... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Pringles Takoyaki Flavor: These special edition Pringles were originally released in the Kansai region of Japan, but I was able to find them at an Odaiba vending machine in Tokyo. With the vending machine, you pay 200¥ (about $2 USD) and press a button to randomly get between 1 and 3 mini Pringles cans. I ended up with one but luckily still received the flavor I was looking for, which is meant to resemble the Japanese street snack takoyaki, battered octopus meatballs drizzled with mayonnaise and a sweet and tangy b... Long Chips Cheese Mashed Potato Snack: These are quite literally long chips, made of mashed potatoes rolled out into thin long sheets (the entire length of the packaging), fried in oil, and seasoned with a cheese powder. They're super crispy and a bit fragile, given how thin they are, but their unique shape and texture makes them an ideal cross between a cracker and a chip. Kind of like Pringles in terms of fried potato flavor, but the cheese is also uniquely not cheddar -- it tastes a bit like Swiss and parmesan combined. The... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Trader Joe's Ridge Cut Potato Chips with Horseradish and Chives: I really enjoyed this fresh take on sour cream and onion. The horseradish flavor is spicy but palatably so, and the chips have a great texture – not too thick and more crispy than crunchy. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes sour cream and onion but would prefer a tangier, sharper flavor. 3.5/5.0

Lay's Grilled Squid Flavor Potato Chips: Purchased at HMart, these substantially ridged potato chips feature a sweet and savory flavor that's a little smoky and a lot of umami. Akin to a sweet teriyaki glaze. I especially liked the texture of the ridges, whose valleys and mountains are about 3x as deep as Ruffles. Worth a try if you're into seafood flavored snacks. 3.5/5.0

Tia Lupita Foods Cactus Salsa Verde Tortilla Chips: Made with cactus, these tortilla chips have an extra crispy and light texture that's quite addictive. The salsa verde flavor is punchy on its own, with acidic tomatillo and a bit of heat (no need for an extra jar of salsa). Excited to try some other flavors from this brand! 3.5/5.0
