Amande Peach Cultured Almondmilk: On appearance, this vegan yogurt looks familiar, with a peach-colored hue and cubes of peach fruit throughout. When you take your first spoonful, though, you'll immediately sense this is a different product, with a consistency much thinner than normal (I would describe it as resembling a thin soup). The taste is also distinct but will be familiar if you enjoy drinking almond milk: it's nutty and rich. Flavor-wise, I actually liked the combination of almond milk with peaches, though the te... Berkeley Bowl Cheddar Whales: From the bulk section, these cheddar crackers are larger than most (about 2x the size of a goldfish and 1.5x Annie's cheddar bunnies). Its cheddar flavor is less tangy than some (for example, Horizon cheddar crackers) but has a distinct taste all its own, I think from the different spices added, including paprika and turmeric. While I didn't find it overseasoned, reassessing the label made me realized that a portion has about 1/4 of your daily serving of sodium. I'm not convinced this is ... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free Maple Buckwheat Flakes: As far as healthy "adult" cereal goes, these buckwheat flakes are some of the best I've had. The maple glaze makes them just sweet enough, and they keep their crunchy consistently longer than any other flakes I know of. I like eating them on their own with milk, though if you wanted more sweetness, I'm sure their recommendation of fresh fruit would do the job as well. While I'm usually skeptical of gluten free foods, these flakes don't seem to be lacking at all. 4.0/5.0

Siggi's Lingonberry & Strawberry skyr yogurt: If you have been following Tasty Snacking for some time, you will know that I am generally a fan of Siggi's yogurt, which is thicker and less sweet than most. I was excited to find a new flavor at Berkeley Bowl: Lingonberry & Strawberry. Like other flavors, the fruit is pre-mixed into the yogurt and gives the yogurt a slightly purplish-pink hue. The tartness from the lingonberries is a nice pairing for the sweet strawberry. A fresh take on mixed berry yogurt. Note: I have found this at ... (read more) 4.0/5.0

Primizie Gouda and garlic crispbreads: This product occupies a new snack space for me, with chips falling somewhere between a tortilla chip and a pita chip in terms of thickness and texture. In many ways, it's the best of both worlds, as it's both crisp and hearty. Flavorwise, garlic is prominent, verging on uncomfortable to speak to others after eating. Gouda adds a unique taste that you don't often find in the snack aisle. 3.5/5.0

Berkeley Bowl Japan Mix: The only grocery store I know that has rice crackers available in bulk, Berkeley Bowl's take on Japanese rice crackers is as good as any. The multi-colored, spherical rice snacks each contain a single roasted peanut. Some are topped with sesame, others mixed with nori; all are glazed with a lightly savory coating. A recommended snack. 4.0/5.0
