Tohato Poteko Seaweed Flavored Potato Rings: Potato rings sized for small hands, dusted with a seaweed powder. Texturally, somewhere between a cracker and chip (less crispy than Fritos but more dense than a normal cracker). Overall, a bit bland. 2.5/5.0

Lotte Fit's big grape and peach gummies: Chewy gummy cubes with a sugary coating, half peach and half grape. They have less resistance (slightly squishier) than Sunkist fruit drops (much less than Dots), but the artificial fruit flavors are fairly standard. Super high amount of sugar but it comes in a small pouch with just a couple servings, typical of most junk food in Japan. 2.5/5.0

Doritos Taco Tortilla Chips: While I'm aware that Doritos were originally taco flavored, I think most people with the US would associate Doritos with their signature nacho cheese flavor. This Taco flavor that I found in Tokyo is more of a taco seasoning, which taste not so much of cheese but more of a sort of meaty chili powder and cumin spice mix. Very savory and reminiscent of those Ortega seasoning packets, which aren't very good but somehow scream "taco night." 2.5/5.0

Toms Giant Chocolate Turtle: This chocolate turtle was sent to me from Denmark as part of a conference "goody bag." Its shape is much more realistic than the pecan-caramel chocolate turtles I've had in the states and features a hexagonal shell pattern, paws for its legs, and two extrusions for the turtle head and tail (but with no discernible face). Pringles Cheeeeeese Flavor: For whatever reason, Japanese cheese snacks are rarely straight-up cheddar and often involve a mix of different types of cheese, resulting in a more creamy flavor. This Cheese Pringles snack, which I think may be exclusive to Japan, has a mix of cheddar cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan. Like typical Pringles, the underlying shape and taste (largely fried potatoes) is consistent; the cheese flavor definitely tastes distinct than regular cheddar but I can't say that I personally prefer it. ...
