Morinaga Lemon Leafy Pie: Individually wrapped packs of two biscuits each, sized only slightly longer than a typical matchbox. The flaky biscuits inside have a lemon icing on one side only; the other exposes a glazed, crispy reminiscent of pie crust. The icing has a sweet but distinct sourness to it, great for fans of acidic treats that have a bit of an edge. Comes in a nice cardboard box that's perforated for easy serving and storing. 3.5/5.0

The chips are thin and crispy and have a unique tangy taste. Having not had umeboshi by itself before, it's difficult for me to assess how closely it tastes of the actual pickled fruit, but the flavor is unlike any chip flavor I've had before and I think is ultimately tasty and worth a try! This is a very widely available brand of chips that you can find at most convenience stores. 3.5/5.0

This is a Sakura ice cream sandwich that's meant to resemble a French pastry (Dacquoise); it consists of sakura-flavored ice cream with a thin layer of strawberry jam sandwiched between two flaky biscuits that have a crumbly costing almost like a glazed sugar cookie. I had the dessert about 10 minutes after getting it from the freezer, which seemed like the pe... (read more) 4.0/5.0

To test my abilities, I walked to the Lawson convenience store on the ground floor and bought a snack of my choice, this yogurt cup containing both tapioca and nata de coco coconut cubes. The yogurt was mildly creamy and tart, a standard plain yogurt in Japan which I prefer to American plain yogurt (it seems a bit lighter). The tapioca had a juicy consistency, which makes it crunchy rather than chewy ... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Its color, an electric yellow-green, makes me naturally think of lemon Gatorade, which it has a similar flavor to except the sweetness has a little more depth, and the consistency is a slightly thicker on the tongue. A decent sweet beverage good for the impending summer heat. 3.5/5.0

The meals at the hospital have been nutritional if not exactly tasty, and there are no snacks. Lying horizontally for several days, I saw little of the floor I'm staying on until a few days ago, when I was able to progress to a wheelchair and them a tall castered walker. After taking a tour ... (read more) 3.0/5.0
