Kung Fu Tea brown sugar ginger tea with boba: This hot beverage evolved over time, but for the worse. I really liked how the ginger flavor was prominent and unforgiving-perfect for cold winter nights. But as I progressed to the bottom of the cup, the drink became overly sweet. And the boba was terrible (far too mushy). For the tea alone, it was a 3.5, but with the boba, it comes down to a 3.0. 3.0/5.0

Found apple cinnamon sparkling water: Somewhere between a soda and flavored seltzer (with 14g of sugar), this drink does a remarkable job capturing the tart quality of a crisp apple. So much so that the aftertaste reminds me a bit of sour candies. It left my throat feeling like I just had a sharp lemonade. The amount of carbonation is spot on, and the cinnamon is present but not overpowering. 3.5/5.0

Chersi Duchesse Pear soda: Despite the Russian labeling, this fizzy beverage is made in the US. Oddly, the soda had a bubblegum-flavored aftertaste, though the initial taste was faintly pear-like. Sugary, but not unexpectedly so (38g per bottle). Color-wise, the soda is copper-toned, like a dark ginger ale. 2.5/5.0

Green Valley Organics Blueberry Pomegranate Acai kefir: This lactose-free drink is on the sweet side (23g of sugar per serving) but also has a slight tartness and clean flavor. While the bottle indicated 4 servings, the drink was thick and filling enough that I easily got 6 servings worth. It reminds me a bit of a gogurt for adults: much thicker and using better quality ingredients. 3.5/5.0

Icee popping candy: People who know me know I'm not into movies. But the one thing I did love about movies as a kid was having an excuse to get an Icee, the horrendously sweet, artificially flavored slushie that turned your mouth blue.
