Awan Coffee Chocolate Chip Ice Cream: Awan is a vegan ice cream shop with a small "window" in West Hollywood where you can take scoops / pints to go. I'm not normally one to get coffee or chocolate ice cream, but after sampling a few flavors, the coffee chocolate chip was the clear winner to me. The texture is remarkably smooth and creamy for vegan ice cream, and the coffee flavor was toasty and rich, with chips of chocolate chip that had a quality snap in texture. Kiddie size was perfect even for sharing. 4.0/5.0

Given its chocolate flavoring and brown color, I expected a strong cocoa flavor only to find that the predominant taste is dates (also listed as the first item in the ingredient list). Maca, a type of root vegetable, is mixed in powdered form, though I am inexperienced with its actual flavor. The bar had a much softer texture than I anticipated, more like a soft cookie than a c... Letter Evil now has a line of paleo-friendly snacks that contain no grains or cheese (and are thus gluten-free and vegan). While the beige-colored macaroni-shaped pieces look a bit like maggots, they have a consistency slightly crunchier than crunchy Cheetos and a mildly sharp cheese flavor that builds over time. Kind of like how the soy mac and cheese flavor of Amy’s frozen pasta is better than their normal cheese flavor, this snack has a dist... (read more) 4.0/5.0

The sticks are covered with an array of seasonings like poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and caraway seeds, but the flavor combination overall tastes like burnt garlic. One of the more unpleasant snacks I've consumed in some time. 1.5/5.0

These chips are less thick than pita chips and more crispy than Wheat Things; they're dusted with a vegan cheddar powder that also appears to be worked into the cracker itself. You could tell it was not milk-based cheddar, yet it still had a satisfying savory flavor, in the same way that vegan mac and cheese can t... (read more) 3.5/5.0
