Annie's Really Ranch Crackers with Hidden Veggies: I generally enjoy Annie's crackers and was excited to try this flavor I hadn't seen before. I've had many types of vegetable-based snacks, which seems to have expanded substantially over the past decade (cauliflower, chickpea, beets, etc.), but my flavor baseline for mixed veggie crackers is super basic: Nabisco's Vegetable Things, or veggie cream cheese. I was hoping for more of the latter with Annie's combination of veggies with ranch, and they did not disappoint. The texture of the crack... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Cocojune Strawberry Rhubarb Organic Cultured Coconut: This vegan yogurt replaces milk with coconut and eats more like a custard than dairy-based yogurt. The fruit (organic strawberry and rhubarb) has been fully mixed, giving the product a generally smooth consistency. I found the thick texture to be compelling for an alternative yogurt, falling in between regular and greek yogurt in thickness. And the product is not overly sweet, with 7g of sugar in a package. That being said, because it's coconut based, it is high in saturated fat (65% of ... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Cocojune Lemon Elderflower Organic Cultured Coconut: Another organic vegan yogurt from Cocojune, this particular flavor had more of a sharp acidic flavor that I felt could have been slightly more balanced. Compared to the strawberry rhubarb I previously tried, I preferred the berry flavor, though it is admittedly more of a standard strawberry flavor. I think this yogurt would appeal to people looking for a dairy-free snack to eat in between meals. 3.0/5.0

Get Back to Human Grain-Free Pizza Crackers: It's been a while since I've shopped at a health-food store, so I didn't realize that suddenly grains have become the enemy. These grain-free crackers proudly advertise everything the snack doesn't contain (refined starches, maltodextrin, seed oils)...but do they taste good? The flavor is a distinct take on pizza – oregano and garlic forward with a roasted tomato aftertaste. The texture of the crackers are crispy; much thinner than Wheat Thins, which makes them feel less substantial. Over... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Inka Chips Jalapeno Tostones Plantain Chips: These thick plantain chips have a unique texture – crispy on the outside but starchy inside, like a more substantial potato chip. The jalapeno seasoning is super tasty, well seasoned (with a decent kick of cumin), and just spicy enough. The serving size is criminally small (6 pieces). But I would definitely buy it again as a treat. Purchased at Sprout Market. 4.0/5.0
