Trader Joe's popcorn in a pickle: This is a prime example of purchasing a novelty snack that had a glimmer of promise. Luckily, this one turned out worthwhile. The flavor is very distinctive, with a briny and herby (dill) flavor. I imagine this would go perfectly with a sandwich, burger, or hotdog. As a seasonal item, it definitely begs for a summer picnic or barbecue. Nonetheless, I enjoy eating it on its own but recognize that people who aren't big fans of pickles should steer clear. Hanjin Korean Traditional Macaroni Pumpkin Snack: Sometimes I'll stumble upon a snack so bizarre that I need to try it. This is one example. First, the contents appeared to resemble beef jerky in texture, but as far as I can tell, it's a purely vegetarian snack. Next, the package advertises it as \"macaroni,\" which it looks nothing like. Annie's Cheddar Snack Mix: Contains pretzels, cheddar bunny crackers, and buttery crackers. Mixed together, the buttery crackers don't taste much different than the cheddar crackers, which means there are essentially only two types in this mix: pretzels and cheese crackers. Technically, I suppose that's the least number you can have that still constitutes a \"mix,\" but I would argue this box lacks variety. Moreover, it gets pretty salty after a few handfuls. Horizon cheddar snack crackers: I've always had a soft spot for cheese crackers in cute shapes, but that doesn't mean I'm not discerning in comparing the several options on the market. Goldfish have long gone downhill, with Pepperidge Farm substantially increasing the sodium content and with an unacceptably high risk of getting a burnt batch. Smooch mango, pineapple, and banana fruit snack: I purchased this from a Leanbox thinking it was a drink. Instead, I found a sort of adult apple sauce with a chunky texture. You suck the snack out of a little spout. Crunchy with the inclusion of chia seeds. Very sweet. Interesting but would probably never purchase again. 3.05/5.0

Haitai Korean chili rice cake snack: A uniquely addictive snack with a bit of an identity crisis. Tubular, ridged wheat \"crackers\" that are meant to resemble their solid rice cake counterparts but look more like macaroni. Unlike real rice cakes, this snack is crunchy. Coated in a sweet and savory chili glaze. The immediate flavor is sweet, but the finish is just spicy enough. Really didn't know what to expect when getting this snack, but it is oddly delicious and definitely worth trying. 4.0/5.0
