Tea King Iron Buddha Milk Tea with Boba: Another solid boba tea shop in Seattle is Tea King, which has both quality fresh brewed teas and a wide range of fruit teas made with fruit syrup made in-house. Their Iron Buddha Milk Tea is an oolong tea, which had a lovely roasted flavor. (Oolong is my go-to option when I'm looking for something a little more nuanced than black tea but don't want the floral notes of jasmine tea). 25% sweetness was perfect for my sugar tolerance, and the boba was excellent too. 4.0/5.0

TeaOne Buckwheat Purple Yam Milk Tea with Boba: Located on Telegraph on the edge of Berkeley's campus is TeaOne, yet another bubble tea shop in Berkeley. I decided to try their Buckwheat Purple Yam milk tea because it's a flavor I haven't seen elsewhere. Unfortunately, it is a flavor that probably shouldn't exist elsewhere because it has a starchy, grainy texture almost reminiscent of sesame breakfast porridge you get in powder packs at Asian grocery stores. Teazzi Tea Shop Deep roasted oolong milk tea: Teazzi is a mostly to-go Taiwanese bubble tea shop located a block away from the southwest edge of Union Square Park in Manhattan. I would normally have ordered their house special, which includes an intriguing mix of oats and boba, but opted for a lighter option with their deep roasted oolong milk tea at 30% sweetness. The Juice Bar black milk tea with boba: Even with less sweetness, this cup of milk tea is a tad too sweet, but the boba is some of the best I've had in Boston. A good amount of bite without being too dense. The milk tea itself is not bad beyond the sweetness. Easily the best bubble tea I've had in Chinatown in Boston. 3.0/5.0
