Liberte Lavender whole milk yogurt: I tend not to purchase this whole milk yogurt because of its high fat content, but I was intrigued by Liberte’s lavender flavor offering. The yogurt was well balanced, a commendable feat since lavender is particularly hard to get right. Floral and creamy without tasting like soap. High quality yogurt too. 3.5/5.0

Seed + Mill Tahini Goats Milk Softserve: Mildly flavored nutty soft serve from Seed + Mill, a small stand in the middle of Chelsea Market. Goats milk gives it a slight tang. A unique offering. Just a tad icy. 4.0/5.0

TeaOne Buckwheat Purple Yam Milk Tea with Boba: Located on Telegraph on the edge of Berkeley's campus is TeaOne, yet another bubble tea shop in Berkeley. I decided to try their Buckwheat Purple Yam milk tea because it's a flavor I haven't seen elsewhere. Unfortunately, it is a flavor that probably shouldn't exist elsewhere because it has a starchy, grainy texture almost reminiscent of sesame breakfast porridge you get in powder packs at Asian grocery stores. The boba was also overly soft, with little discernible taste. 2.5/5.0

Bubble Tea Share Time Ginger milk tea with boba: Small mom-and-pop bubble tea shop Share Time is yet another bubble tea option in Berkeley. Located on Shattuck about a ten minute walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART station, Its menu consists of largely classic milk and fruit teas. Their ginger milk tea is very good, with a prominent ginger flavor mellowed out by creamy milk. Boba was above average in consistency - a little soft but with good elasticity. Would visit again. 3.5/5.0

Powder Ube shaved ice with mochi and condensed milk: This is the third flavor I've had from Powder, a Taiwanese shaved ice shop in San Francisco. The first, black sesame, was excellent, with a light texture but creamy flavor. The second, matcha, had a great green tea flavor but was more dense in texture. This last one was, unfortunately, the worst texturally, which is apparent from just the image itself - the starchy potato may have made it harder to achieve the same airy consistency that the black sesame ice had. Sweetheart Cafe Jasmine milk tea with boba: Sweetheart Cafe is a small bubble tea shop on Durant right on the south edge of UC Berkeley's main campus. The main draw to this inexpensive mom and pop shop is their boba, which as far as I'm concerned is unrivaled in the Bay Area for its chewiness and overall consistency. The Jasmine milk tea that I purchased alongside the boba had an identifiable Jasmine tea flavor but was more milk than tea.
