Cocojune Lemon Elderflower Organic Cultured Coconut: Another organic vegan yogurt from Cocojune, this particular flavor had more of a sharp acidic flavor that I felt could have been slightly more balanced. Compared to the strawberry rhubarb I previously tried, I preferred the berry flavor, though it is admittedly more of a standard strawberry flavor. I think this yogurt would appeal to people looking for a dairy-free snack to eat in between meals. 3.0/5.0

Good Belly coconut water: I purchased two more GoodBelly flavors because of a sale at Whole Foods. The first I tried was coconut water with probiotics added. The drink has a slightly green milky tint, with brown sediments on the bottom. It has a strange flavor added on top of coconut water (I think from the grape juice listed on the ingredients). Not recommended. 2.5/5.0

Siggi's coconut yogurt: Icelandic skyr yogurt that's very thick and rich. This flavor was too savory for me-it seemed like it would work paired with other foods (a slightly sweet element in a savory dish or a savory element on a dessert). But on its own, I found the flavor to be kind of off-putting. Clearly made of quality ingredients, though. 2.5/5.0

Kate's coconut mango cashew Tiki bar: I purchased this bar for a little over $2 from the Leanbox at work. Despite its small-ish size, this extremely dense snack bar is very filling. Perhaps because it was stored in a fridge, it became quite leaden. The flavor is tangy and tropical - the coconut flavor is prominent, and the mango tastes citrusy for some reason. This snack served as a reminder to me to check the nutrition facts before making an impulsive purchase; this small bar has a whopping 9g of saturated fat, 45% of your reco... (read more) 2.5/5.0

Wat Mongkolratanaram Khanom Krok: My first exposure to this Thai street food was at Wat Mongkolratanaram, a buddhist temple in Berkeley right around the corner from Berkeley Bowl. Every Sunday, they host an outdoor market serving a variety of dishes, including pad thai, thai iced tea, curry, and beef noodle soup (a non-vegetarian buddhist meal). Along with these entrees are two desserts: mango sticky rice and khanom krok, the latter of which is $6 for 8 pieces. Khanom krok are a mash up of pancakes and rice pudding served...
