Vita Coco Pressed coconut water: This product had a massive ad campaign featuring harsh critics writing online reviews deeming the drink "pretty good," so I can't help but feel a sense of deja vu. The first time I had coconut water, I described it as drinking liquid cookie, and we have reached peak liquified macaroon with this new Vita Coco drink. H2C Coconut Water: At this point, I bucket coconut water into three categories: ones that have a strong, slightly off flavor (somewhat metallic, too sweet, etc), those that are just fine, and those that have the lightest and cleanest flavor. This one is just fine - nothing makes it stand out as being particularly good or bad. But given the price of coconut water, I would only recommend those that fall in the last category. 3.0/5.0

Coco Libre Coconut water: After having the very good Real Coco coconut water, I have a new baseline with which compare all other coconut waters. This one from Coco Libre has a stronger, slightly off-tasting flavor, which I definitely took as a sign of it being less fresh than the cleaner tasting Real Coco drink. On the more affordable side as far as coconut water goes, but I would gladly pay a bit more for better quality. 2.5/5.0

Real Coco Organic coconut water: I somehow managed to get the stomach flu, so to supplement a box of saltines, I purchased some electrolyte-rich beverages. The first was this carton of organic coconut water, which had a pleasantly neutral taste. It’s just sweet enough, and has a thirst quenching, clean flavor. I would drink this, even when not sick! 4.0/5.0

Invo Coconut Water: Coconut water is like the avocado toast of the beverage world, though admittedly it takes more effort to cut open a fresh coconut than it is to slice an avocado. Should anyone be charging $5 for a 16oz bottle of coconut water? Invo thinks that it can, but I disagree. I purchased this bottle as an alternative to a can of diet soda from my office's Byte vending machine. The drink has a clean coconut water flavor that is not so different than any other coconut water, at the end of the day. 2.5/5.0
