Christina's carrot cake ice cream: I'm generally a big fan of Christina's, but this recent scoop was a miss. While the spiced flavor was quite good, especially the whole raisins and walnuts, the texture was not smooth at all, and the aftertaste was somewhat chalky. 2.0/5.0

Dado Tea peach blossom iced tea: the initial herbal flavor is upfront and typical, but the peach finish is clean and fresh. Generally pretty good. 3.0/5.0

Dado Tea mango smoothie: great mango flavor. Texture is smooth and consistent (not icy). Very refreshing and not too sweet. A light and satisfying smoothie. 4.0/5.0

Coast Cafe sweet potato pie: A pleasantly spiced pie reminiscent of pumpkin pie but made with sweet potato. Filling is smooth and on the sweet side, but satisfying nonetheless. Crust is fine. Portion is generous. 3.5/5.0

Kung Fu Tea honey bubble tea: At last, good bubble tea has come to Cambridge. I was first introduced to Kung Fu Tea in NYC and was happy to find a tea spot offering varied sweetness levels (such as half sugar). There are now several locations in Boston, but the latest location has opened in Davis Square. The honey tea has no added sugar and is refreshingly and naturally sweet. The boba texture is excellent. Bon Me Thai iced tea: Really strange flavor that somehow manages to be both intensely sweet and diluted. Very little herbal tea flavor. One of the worst things I've spent money on in recent memory. 0.5/5.0
