Calbee Grill-A-Corn Barbecue Flavor: Chinese corn chips that have a sweet barbecue flavor, a bit reminiscent of Shacha bbq sauce but more seasoned. The packaging suggests a grilled corn on the cob flavor, perhaps similar to that you can find, brushed with Shacha sauce, in night markets in Asia. Overall, a decent flavor, but not one I'd likely return to. Purchased from Hong Kong Supermarket. 3.0/5.0

Snikkidy Organic Mac N' Cheese Baked Puffs: Formed by two moms who wanted snacks they felt good giving their kids, Snikiddy is extremely on brand for the Park Slope Food Coop. The cheese puffs are organic, contain no high fructose corn syrup, no hydrogenated oils, and no GMO ingredients. Upon first taste, they seemed pretty bland to be honest, with a very light cheese flavor that tasted like health food. After a few more pieces, the cheese factor slightly cumulated to the point that it was vaguely reminiscent of mac and cheese, but... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Casamara Club Sera sparkling amaro soft drink: Got this can of soda from Petra in Bushwick. It tastes like someone took the traditional elements of a cola (allspice, cinnamon, and citrus like lemon, orange, and grapefruit) and removed all of the sugar (the entire bottle has 4g of sugar). Quite a medicinal flavor that I would imagine only adults could enjoy. I didn't think it was bad for what it was, but it also wasn't a drink I would ever reach for. 3.0/5.0

Rabbit Rabbit Tea Japanese buckwheat milk tea with almond pudding: A caffeine-free option at bubble tea shop Rabbit Rabbit Tea, located at the edge of Union Square. It tasted more of milk than buckwheat, but it did have a familiar Asian breakfast porridge vibe to it, reminiscent of powdered grain packs you mix with hot water. The tea was so so, but the almond pudding was quite good - it had a distinctly non-dairy-milk nutty quality and a soft, slick texture. Overall, though, I probably wouldn't come back to Rabbit Rabbit gven the quality of this drink alone. 3.0/5.0

Keki Matcha cheesecake: My company lets us pick our birthday-treat-of-choice. I learned my lesson last year, when I requested my favorite dessert (mochi) but found there weren't good ways to order it fresh in NYC. This year I went for a local favorite instead: Keki cheesecake, which was introduced to me by my RC Food Club friends. My indoctrination to Keki was through their original Japanese cheesecake, which has an excellent light and fluffy texture, but we also ordered their matcha 'fancy' cake to try. It costs ... Dream Pretzels Sesame Pressels: Baked pretzel chips, shaped like flat mini bagels and golden brown at the edges. Not very seasoned on their own, so the predominant flavor comes from the nuttiness of the white sesame seeds. The packaging is upfront about this, with a label indicating it has 35% less sodium this regular pretzels. They beg to be eaten with a dip, and they taste particularly good with hummus. Purchased at the Park Slope Coop. 3.0/5.0
