Stonyfield Organic strawberry Fruit on the Bottom yogurt: A fairly standard take on strawberry yogurt. Nothing offensive, but nothing distinctive either. 2.5/5.0

(This all sounds very befitting for a spot in the Gourmet Ghetto, I know.) I sampled the Vietnamese cinnamon (which tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch) before deciding on their mango sorbet and ricotta lemon zest. For all three flavors, I found them to be overly sweet for my taste, and while the texture w... (read more) 2.5/5.0

In those days, organic, fresh foods were not really part of anyone’s vocabulary in suburban NJ. I was curious about what an organic take on fruit snacks would taste like from Berkeley-based food company Annie’s and purchased these on sale. The fruit snacks have a softer, gummier texture than something like Welsh fruit snacks or Dots candy. The tropical pack contains a mix of mango-peach, orange, and... (read more) 2.5/5.0

What struck me about this ice cream shop was the strong buttery smell upon entering. I personally prefer lighter, more subtle flavors and found the richness of the passion fruit ice cream to be somewhat overwhelming. Mixed in with the ice cream were oddly dry pieces of cake - what they had to do with passion fruit ice cream I’ll never know. Expensive at almost $6 a scoop. They also don’t mix two flav...
