Puffworks Peanut butter puffs: I expected these corn puffs to be coated in a dry peanut butter powder, but the coating was surprisingly more like paste. That made them a little more challenging to eat, as they leave your fingers slightly sticky. The peanut butter is neither sweet nor savory and was frankly bland. The snack coats your mouth just like peanut butter does, so it also begs to be eaten with a drink. Purchased from Fairway. 2.5/5.0

Nature's Soy Matcha Soymilk: I first discovered this brand of asian soymilk at Hong Kong Supermarket in Chinatown but have since found it available at larger chains like Fairway. Ancient Ingrained Snack Co Ka-Pop Salt & Vinegar Ancient Grain Popped Chips: Thinner and crispier than PopChips (pressurized potato chips) or Pop-Corners (popped corn tortilla chips), these sorghum-based "ancient grains" chips have a satisfyingly sharp and tart salt and vinegar flavor. They enter a crowded market of fried potato-chip alternatives, yet are different enough in texture to hold their own. Nutritionally, they're much healthier than potato chips, with 4g of fat per serving. I liked this bag enough to try their other flavors next time I make it to Fairway. 3.5/5.0

Fairway Kettle corn: Fairway is the great equalizer, with a mix of affordable conventional and organic produce and snacks that aren't easily found in other chains in NYC. Their kettle corn is more buttery than most, and the caramel coating is not overwhelmingly thick and crunchy. Overall, it's a good value snack. 3.0/5.0
