Calbee Cheddar Cheese Crisps: These are puffed corn chips, similar in texture to fried shrimp chips you get from certain types of Chinese restaurants. In other words, they have a type of crispy-styrofoam-like texture rather than resembling potato chips or crisps. Overall, the cheese flavor is so-so; I definitely didn't like it enough to buy it again. 2.5/5.0

Pringles Cheeeeeese Flavor: For whatever reason, Japanese cheese snacks are rarely straight-up cheddar and often involve a mix of different types of cheese, resulting in a more creamy flavor. This Cheese Pringles snack, which I think may be exclusive to Japan, has a mix of cheddar cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan. Like typical Pringles, the underlying shape and taste (largely fried potatoes) is consistent; the cheese flavor definitely tastes distinct than regular cheddar but I can't say that I personally prefer it. ... Doritos Taco Tortilla Chips: While I'm aware that Doritos were originally taco flavored, I think most people with the US would associate Doritos with their signature nacho cheese flavor. This Taco flavor that I found in Tokyo is more of a taco seasoning, which taste not so much of cheese but more of a sort of meaty chili powder and cumin spice mix. Very savory and reminiscent of those Ortega seasoning packets, which aren't very good but somehow scream "taco night." 2.5/5.0

Tim’s Sour cream and onion potato chips: When I arrived in Seattle, it was late enough that most restaurants were closed (10pm by the way, which I’m not sure is a COVID thing or just that things close earlier more generally). The only thing open was a little bodega type shop called NYC Deli; in true Seattle style, as I was walking there, I got caught in a sudden downpour and was drenched by the time I arrived.
