Coppenrath Traveller Vanilla Cookies on Tour: Purchased the vanilla flavor of these cookies after enjoying the caramel one. The vanilla is much more standard and run of the mill, but still has a decent crumbly texture and good value (the bag can last me more than a week and costs less than $3). If you're going to pick a flavor, though, I would definitely go with the caramel. 2.5/5.0

Saffron Road Zesty ranch chickbean crisps : Multicolored triangular chips with a light ranch flavored coating. Similar in texture to Popchips. Flavor is pretty middle of the road - nothing notable here. 2.5/5.0

Pavel's Whole milk yogurt: Purchased on sale at Berkeley Bowl since I needed whole milk yogurt for a soup I was cooking. Product has a nice tart flavor, but the texture will be off putting to most. It doesn't have any stabilizers, so after you open it, it quickly becomes both clumpy and watery. Works well if you're adding to other things bough, like a soup or smoothie. 2.5/5.0

180 Snacks Cranberry Pomegranate Trail Mix Crunch: One of the more healthful vending machines available at work. Cubes of almonds, dried cranberries, and pistachios. Crunchy, not chewy. Oven baked to perfection is a bit of an overstatement. Decent. 2.5/5.0

Almdudler Soda: Considered the national beverage of Austria, Almdudler is a caramel colored carbonated drink that comes in a glass bottle with two dancing figures printed on the side. It doesn't taste much like anything, to be honest, with faint traces of fruit, caramel, and herbs, but none prominent enough to carry the soda towards any particular identity. Purchased at the German restaurant Suppenkuche in San Francisco. 2.5/5.0

John's Ube Ice Cream: Neighboring the Berkeley Bike Station is a small ice cream shop named John's with barely enough room for two sets of freezers and a single-file queue that regularly extends well past the doors. Given the size of the establishment, it wouldn't be inaccurate to credit these lines simply to space limitation rather than the quality of John's products. But a comic-sans printed sign outside the door advertises what is likely the biggest draw: $1.50 scoops (the $0.50 handwritten and appended to t... (read more) 2.5/5.0
