Mr. Wish Kiwi slush with lychee jelly: My mouth was burning after consuming an abnormally spicy bowl of noodle soup at the New World Mall. Despite the numerous bubble tea stands to choose from at the basement food court, I opted to go across the street to Mr. Wish, a cash-only tea shop that has especially good fruit slushies. Trader Joe's Caramel ginger popcorn: A fresh spin on caramel popcorn, TJ's caramel ginger popcorn has a solid spiced flavor that you immediately identify as ginger. Unfortunately, it is far too sweet, with each piece coated in a thick sheen of buttery sugar. While popcorn is generally a healthier snack option, this one is far from it. Still, if you like ginger, chances are you will like this snack, as long as you don't eat too much in one sitting. 3.0/5.0

Invo Coconut Water: Coconut water is like the avocado toast of the beverage world, though admittedly it takes more effort to cut open a fresh coconut than it is to slice an avocado. Should anyone be charging $5 for a 16oz bottle of coconut water? Invo thinks that it can, but I disagree. I purchased this bottle as an alternative to a can of diet soda from my office's Byte vending machine. The drink has a clean coconut water flavor that is not so different than any other coconut water, at the end of the day. 2.5/5.0

Craftsman & Wolves Strawberry Lemonade: Vividly colored seasonal lemonade from Mission bakery Craftsmen & Wolves. Strawberry flavor was concentrated, but the drink overall was incredibly sweet and not particularly acidic. I had to consume it in small sips for it to be palatable. 2.5/5.0

Marin Food Specialties Fig Bars: I think figs are one of the most underrated fruits. Since I moved to Berkeley, I've enjoyed eating the Berkeley Bowl fig cereal bars fairly regularly, so I don't usually buy packaged fig bars anymore. This product was on sale, though, and given that it was a local brand, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, the filling was overly dense and far too sweet, while the cookie was too crumbly and a little bit dry. I have yet to find a good snack with the word "great tasting" on the labe...
