Way Better Snacks pumpkin cranberry tortilla chips: I found this out-of-season bag of chips heavily discounted at my local supermarket. The chips need...something. They are neither here nor there-not sweet enough or savory enough to be satisfying. I also find them very underseasoned, and I already prefer lightly seasoned food. Definitely begging to be eaten with some sort of dip, though what could complement this odd flavor combination is beyond me. The chips themselves have an unappetizing dark purple hue. Laurel Hill Nacho multigrain tortilla chips: Awkwardly sized long, rectangular chips that have a milky cheese flavor, almost like what you might have with boxed mac and cheese. Disappointingly small serving size of 7 chips. Multigrain flavor is not bad, though, and the seasoning had a slight zesty kick. 3.0/5.0

Trader Joe's sweet potato tortilla chips: A mix of white corn and sweet potato, the dominant flavor in this snack is definitely not sweet potato (although you get a hint of it at the end). The chip should be slightly thicker, and the flavor overall is just ok. Probably would be much better with a dip, but doesn't really hold its own. Nonetheless, it's a light snack that isn't overly seasoned. 3.0/5.0

Gringo Jack's Chilie rubbed flaky tortilla chips: Intriguing texture. The closest thing I can compare it to is the fried corn snacks sometimes served at takeout Chinese restaurants (with a side of duck sauce), but a thinner, flakier version. Not a healthy snack: although the texture is lighter than normal chips, these are certainly deep fried, even if it's using high quality oils. The chilie flavor is lightly smoked with a balanced level of seasoning. Maybe more interesting than good overall. 3.5/5.0

Garden of Eatin' guac-a-mole tortilla chips: Chips with a citrus lime zing. I can't say I'd guess there's guacamole as the lime seems to overpower any other flavor. Good texture and crunch. Some sort of cooling element, like a hint of sour cream, could help the sharp acidic flavor. 3.0/5.0
