Trader Joe's Roasted Coconut Chips: I wasn't expecting to write a review of this, in the same way I wouldn't really think to write a review for dried raisins I was going to put in my oatmeal or chocolate chips I planned to add to fresh-baked cookies (if I made cookies at home, which I don't). I purchased these toasted coconut chips from Trader Joe's so I could put them in chia seed pudding I usually make for breakfast. But these salted coconut chips are really delicious straight out of the bag. They have a tasty toasted fla... (read more) 4.0/5.0

Trader Joe’s Matcha Joe Joe’s sandwich cookies: Trader Joe’s delivers on this Japanese-take on the classic American sandwich cookie. A thick layer of matcha-flavored cream (~1.5x that of a normal Oreo) sits between two vanilla cookies. The interior has an icing-like texture and is very sweet. I wish there was about half the amount of sugar, but even so, I still found myself enjoying the snack overall. Would purchase again. 3.5/5.0

That’s the case with this 2-per-serving snack from Trader Joe’s consisting of a soft mix of dried fruit, nuts, and seeds. The usual suspects of natural health snacks are present (chia seeds and coconut). They are pretty high in sugar given the size but don’t have any added sugar. Tastes predominantly of dates, though you also get a bit of berry too. Decent as far as this type of product... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Trader Joe’s Calamansi Cooler: I’m a fan of the increasing number of calamansi-flavored products I’ve witnessed overt the past year, and there is perhaps no bigger institution to bring visibility to this tropical fruit than Trader Joe’s. Their calamansi cooler contains less than a 12oz can but looks substantial given its slender and tall packaging. Non-carbonated, the beverage tastes like a cross between lime and grapefruit with a trace of a more acidic, funky fruit like passion fruit. Overall, it’s a bit too sweet for my...
