Mashti Malone Cucumber Sorbet: After getting a scoop from Saffron & Rose, my sister and I stopped by Mashti Malone to compare. Half of Mashti Malone has regular American ice cream, while the other has more interesting Persian options. Morgenstern's Tour Pine'Our soft serve: One of my favorite chefs, Paul Liebrandt, recently collaborated with the LES ice cream shop Morgenstern's and introduced a series of special soft serve flavors over the course of a month. Morgenstern's Mixed berry sorbet: Mixed berry sorbet that seems like it was crafted just for my tastes: barely sweetened, very tart, and perfectly smooth, with a dollop of cream, all topped with a sprinkling of crumble for texture. Clean raspberry and blueberry flavor. A rare snack I can find no fault with. Part of Morgensterns monthly sorbae flavor rotation. Available for the month of July. 5.0/5.0

Morgenstern's Black currant sorbet : A sharp black currant sorbet, sure to color your entire mouth deep purple. More tart than sweet, and in that way tastes remarkably close to the real fruit. Texture was a tad inconsistent, witha few icier segments. Wish Morgenstern's could let you do two flavors in one scoop because this was an example of a flavor that was strong enough that having an entire single-dip cup felt superfluous. 3.5/5.0

Morgenstern’s Passion fruit sorbet with chocolate magic shell: Last few days to get Morgenstern’s October Sorbae: passion fruit sorbet covered with their homemade chocolate “magic shell.” The sorbet didn’t need the chocolate at all, in my opinion, as the passion fruit is sharp and fresh on its own. 3.5/5.0

N'ice Cream watermelon and mango sorbet: Located on Abbot Kinney in Venice, LA, this small shop offers an assortment of ice creams and sorbets. For a small, priced at $5, I was given two substantial scoops, both of very high quality. I was most impressed with the texture, which was perfectly smooth. The mango flavor was a bit faint but very clean, and the watermelon was especially distinct: a remarkably creamy take on a seasonal classic. Highly recommended. 4.0/5.0
