Abdallah vanilla cream caramels: Wanting to bring back a local confectionary, I walked through several terminals at MSP in Minnesota and came across this brand. I was sold by the golden Made in Minnesota seal as well as the non-chocolate options. Each piece is substantial and has a classic, buttery richness. Awake caffeinated caramel chocolate: Milk chocolate bar segmented into four with a caramel filling. An entire bar contains as much caffeine as a cup of Joe. The chocolate itself is a basic milk chocolate, as was the gooey but overly sweet caramel. Whether or not the caffeine content was effective for me (or if the effects were purely psychological) I cannot say. 2.5/5.0

Ciao Bella Sea Salt Caramel Gelato Squares: Rich caramel ice cream with dark chocolate squares. A decadent frozen treat. I'm a fan even though I typically don't go for chocolate desserts. 3.5/5.0

Daelmans caramel Stroopwafel: I received this free Dutch snack on a recent United flight. The sweet waffle-like cookie has a chewy caramel-flavored center. Overall, I found the cookie too sweet, but the texture was satisfying. 3.0/5.0

Furano Melon caramel: These melon-flavored chewy candies are from Hokkaido, purchased by way of Jmart in Flushing. I love the packaging, which somehow managed to combine the rainbow lavender fields of Hokkaido with wine, a ball of yarn, and a stormcloud. Inside the box is individually wrapped Starburst-sized candies the pastel-orange color of cantaloupe. They have a concentrated melon flavor that I really enjoyed.
