Walkers Monster Munch: I saw a Snack Masters episode where British chefs tried to replicate the texture and flavor of the pickled onion Monster Munch snack, a baked corn snack shaped as monster paws with a punchy seasoned coating. You can get these at any convenience store in London. The texture is slightly denser than puffed Cheetos but has a similar effect - you get less in a bag than you might expect given the volume of each piece. The pickled onion coating was quite unique - not like any flavor I’ve ever had i... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Summerdown Mint Chocolate Peppermint Creams: I bought these chocolates from the English-focused Chelsea Market shop Chelsea Market Baskets as a holiday present. They're kind of like peppermint patties on steroids, with a very satisfying, thick dark chocolate shell and potent mint filling, slightly chewy and somewhat viscous. It's made using English Black Mitcham peppermint, and you can taste the quality. It cost a little over $10 for a box of 16 pieces, easily enough to share. 4.0/5.0

Savoursmiths Bubbly and serrano chilli potato chips: Imported potato chips from the UK that are flavored with chardonnay and chili powder, they taste remarkably like champagne mixed with salt and vinegar and a bit of heat. They taste like something you might have on a special occasion, rather than an every-day snack (though they were reasonably priced at the Co-op). I don't really drink, so it was a surprise to get a whiff of b... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Luscombe Raspberry Crush Soda: A truly worthy raspberry flavored soda, with all the sweetness of super ripe fruit, added freshness from just enough tartness, and a splash of lemon. The best berry-flavored soda I’ve had. From British brand Luscombe. 4.5/5.0

Taveners Jelly babies: Since 1904, brits have been able to satisfy their cannibalistic desires with Taveners jelly babies. These gummy candies have a unique frosted coating; biting through it reveals a softer, slightly sticky interior that’s very sweet with classic fruit flavors (simply described as “flavorings” in the ingredients). Good in small quantities. 3.0/5.0
