Traderspoint Creamery Raspberry Yogurt: Small glass jar with a gold foil top containing European-style organic yogurt. Seems to be perpetually on sale at Berkeley Bowl, probably because it's not as filling as other yogurts (because of its size), costs more (probably because of the packaging), and has a thin consistency that's even more watery than typical non-Greek yogurt. Leans more towards a soup than a yogurt. The flavor is decent but mostly familiar. 2.5/5.0

Lundberg Mochi Sweet Organic Rice Cakes: Made with whole grain brown rice, these "sweet" rice cakes are actually more savory than sweet since they are lightly salted. I was hoping they would have a different taste than normal plain rice cakes, but they are essentially flavorless (minus the salt). 2.5/5.0

Yaya’s Herb and garden vegetable popcorn : More herb than vegetable, this popcorn tastes strongly of oregano and olive oil. Because of its one-dimensional taste, it has been sitting in my pantry for several months now, an unheard of amount of time for any snack in my apartment. Would not recommend, but the popcorn otherwise (fluffy and light) is good enough that I would consider trying Yaya’s other flavors. 2.5/5.0

Norr Skyr Organic Gooseberries Yogurt: The clean design and Scandinavian gooseberry flavor made me very excited to try this brand of yogurt. Overall, though, the product was underwhelming for several reasons. First, the texture is much thinner than Siggi's and surprisingly loose for a skyr. Next, the gooseberries (which were cubed and on the bottom of the yogurt) had almost zero flavor and seemed to be present merely for texture, though it was mushy at that. Disappointing. 2.0/5.0

Marin Food Specialties Fig Bars: I think figs are one of the most underrated fruits. Since I moved to Berkeley, I've enjoyed eating the Berkeley Bowl fig cereal bars fairly regularly, so I don't usually buy packaged fig bars anymore. This product was on sale, though, and given that it was a local brand, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, the filling was overly dense and far too sweet, while the cookie was too crumbly and a little bit dry. I have yet to find a good snack with the word "great tasting" on the labe... Jarlsberg Garlic and Herb Cheese Crips: These unfortunate crisps contain only traces of cheese powder and mostly taste of dried thyme. Cannot see them pairing well with anything. 1.5/5.0
