Drop the Mic Ice Cream: Chikalicious is my favorite dessert bar, and I highly recommend it if you haven't been before. They recently launched an ice cream menu at the bar when it had normally been closed M-W. The ice cream I previously had, both in plated desserts and across the street at their dessert club shop, were all impressive. On my last visit, I tried each of their current offerings and will share my thoughts on each one, though the overall score is representative of all the ice cream. Pictured here is the grapefruit sorbet, sweet potato ice cream, and coffee milk sorbet. The best was the coffee milk; even though I don't typically enjoy coffee desserts, this one had the most distinct and concentrated flavor and was topped with just the right amount of coffee bean to add texture. The sweet potato was very good, and the grapefruit was light but not quite as flavorful as the others. Each quenelle tops a cake and semifreddo (different cakes are soaked in different types of alcohol). Unfortunately, I found the cakes to be consistently on the dry side, but the ice creams were definitely worth trying. 4.0/5.0
