Tilamook Oregon Strawberry Strained Yogurt: This brand of yogurt strikes me as the training wheels of Greek yogurt. If you prefer less thick Greek yogurt and yogurt that isn't as tart but still has the familiarity of fruit-on-the-bottom, this yogurt checks all of the boxes. It's high in protein and has a satisfying by familiar blend of strawberry flavoring. Personally, I prefer the tartness and thickness of other brands of Greek yogurt, but this one certainly isn't bad. 3.0/5.0

Amande Peach Cultured Almondmilk: On appearance, this vegan yogurt looks familiar, with a peach-colored hue and cubes of peach fruit throughout. When you take your first spoonful, though, you'll immediately sense this is a different product, with a consistency much thinner than normal (I would describe it as resembling a thin soup). The taste is also distinct but will be familiar if you enjoy drinking almond milk: it's nutty and rich. Flavor-wise, I actually liked the combination of almond milk with peaches, though the te... Loacker Blackcurrant Quadratini Wafer Cookies: Generally, I'm a fan of the Italian brand Loacker, which offers square snack-sized wafers in a variety of flavors. I found the blackcurrant flavor to be especially good because they are actually more tart than sweet. The wafers are crispy and thin, and because they are thick, they feel like a substantial snack despite the bite-size package. Definitely one of the best Loacker wafers I've had. 4.0/5.0

Berkeley Bowl Cheddar Whales: From the bulk section, these cheddar crackers are larger than most (about 2x the size of a goldfish and 1.5x Annie's cheddar bunnies). Its cheddar flavor is less tangy than some (for example, Horizon cheddar crackers) but has a distinct taste all its own, I think from the different spices added, including paprika and turmeric. While I didn't find it overseasoned, reassessing the label made me realized that a portion has about 1/4 of your daily serving of sodium. I'm not convinced this is ... (read more) 3.0/5.0

U Cha Barley milk tea with boba: Continuing my bubble tea taste test across Berkeley, I found myself at a popular tea shop named U Cha on Bancroft. Their expansive menu has the fruit and milk tea flavors you expect from a Taiwanese-style chain. I ordered their barley tea with boba at 20% sweetness with little ice. The flavor was familiar but watered down and over-sweetened; the boba was too chewy. With better options, this one is a pass. 2.0/5.0

Harmless Harvest Harmless Coconut Water: This is a product that appeals to all types of coconut water consumers: it's fair trade (for the socially responsible), it's organic (for the health-conscious), it has a distinctively shaped bottle (for designers), and it's kind of expensive (all of the above). Some are pink (which happens when the polyphenols naturally present are exposed to light), while some are clear. Overall, I found it to be well balanced, refreshing, and light. 4.0/5.0
