Trader Joe's ginger beer: Last year, I attempted to purchase this drink only to find that the seasonal product was sold out. Seeing it on the shelves this time around, I was especially excited to try it. I'm picky about my ginger beers, and this one is good. Surprisingly robust, spicy ginger flavor for a mass market audience. Good amount of carbonation and citrus. Worth checking out. 4.0/5.0

Trader Joe's kettle popped popcorn chips: Whole grain, circular chips that are light but flavorful. Each chip has an addicting sweet and salty coating. Contains ingredients you can feel good about (e.g., chia seeds, quinoa, flax seeds, and sunflower seeds) but doesn't taste like bad health food; in fact, it's very tasty in its own right. 4.0/5.0

Trader Joe's peanut butter & jelly nonfat Greek yogurt: A unique yogurt flavor I haven't seen from another brand. The yogurt captures the essence of peanut butter and jelly in a surprisingly faithful way. So much so that I wanted a glass of milk afterward. The yogurt itself is thin and watery for Greek yogurt; not the best texture. Nonetheless, TJ's scores some points for originality here. 3.5/5.0

Trader Joe's popcorn in a pickle: This is a prime example of purchasing a novelty snack that had a glimmer of promise. Luckily, this one turned out worthwhile. The flavor is very distinctive, with a briny and herby (dill) flavor. I imagine this would go perfectly with a sandwich, burger, or hotdog. As a seasonal item, it definitely begs for a summer picnic or barbecue. Nonetheless, I enjoy eating it on its own but recognize that people who aren't big fans of pickles should steer clear. Luckily, I'm not one of them. 3.5/5.0

Trader Joe's pumpkin cereal bars: Another pumpkin seasonal item, this snack tastes true to its flavor, with a spiced pumpkin pie interior containing ingredients such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Like most cereal bars, it's on the sweet side. A great filling snack in between meals and a good value at $2 for a box of 6. 3.5/5.0
