Baladin ginger soda: An Italian soda that is somewhat lost in translation. There is no actual ginger in this drink. Instead, it's a spiced citrus drink that tastes more bitter and floral than sweet (think orange peel and lemon). A unique flavor but it's hard to imagine what it would pair well with. Galvanina Blood orange, black carrot, and blueberry sparkling fruit beverage: Organic Italian soda that apparently is sold as Whole Foods branded Italian soda. I purchased this glass bottle from Molinari deli in North Beach, SF (which I also recommend, by the way). While I found it on the sweet side, the addition of carrot was unique and not at all overpowering. The berry, vegetable, and citrus combination is well balanced and worth a try. 3.5/5.0

Tre Marie Ancora Una milk cream filled wafer: From Milan, these bite-sized square vanilla wafers are like Quadratini, only better, with a deliciously rich milk filling. Thin wafers are crispy yet substantial. A snack whose quality you can clearly taste. 3.5/5.0

Lazzaroni Amaretti di Saronno: Traditional almond flavored biscuits from Italy. These bite-sized cookies are crunchy and hard, the almond flavor is pronounced. A bit too sweet for my taste. 3.0/5.0

Gelco Cola-Xplosion: Reminiscent of Cow Tales, this tubular gummy candy has a chewy cola-flavored exterior and a white interior that gives off a fizzy sensation. The cola flavoring was well-rounded, with a deeper sarsaparilla flavor than I expected. A dentist's nightmare, as the candy becomes embedded in your teeth. 3.0/5.0

Vintage Italia Pasta Bowtie Meatball Parm baked puffed snack: Large bowtie-shaped crisps with a thin shell and hollow interior, this snack is the only one I know currently on the market that resembles 3D Doritos. They are, however, less substantial than their Frito Lay predecessor, which also means the bag must be handled very carefully to avoid a bag of scraps. Tangy, sweet tomato flavor with a good amount of Italian herbs and pepper seasoning. A more intense version of pizza Goldfish crackers. 3.0/5.0
