Cawston Press Ginger Beer: Ginger beer just may be my all time favorite beverage, so while I'm particular about snacks more generally, ginger sodas undergo an extra level of scrutiny. I've reviewed 38 ginger-flavored beverages on Tasty Snacking so far and continue to seek new takes on the uniquely spicy root. That's what makes Cawston Press's ginger beer so special - it combines the warming spice of ginger with pressed apples, which provide a level of freshness and sweetness that is refreshingly new. Highly concent... (read more) 4.5/5.0

Rachel's Ginger Beer: A Seattle-based venture, Rachel's ginger beer is available at restaurants around the city but has a mix of ginger + fruit concoctions available on tap at its Pikes Place shop. I opted for the classic, and it definitely tasted fresh, inducing a sharp tingly feeling in the back of your throat. I've made ginger beers from scratch at home that taste very similar. Back to Nature Triple Ginger Cookies: Purchased on sale at Berkeley Bowl, these cookies incorporate ginger powder, crystallized ginger, and ginger extract (hence the "triple"). Decent basic ginger snap cookies that are crunchy without being a danger to your teeth. 3.0/5.0

But I was impressed with their Ginger Mint Lemonade, whic... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Zema Madhouse Sweet Potato Spice Cookies: Crumbly mini cookies flavored with sweet potato, ginger, and cinnamon. Gluten-free, substituting gluten-full ingredients with hemp, chia, and flax meal. Sounds too healthy to be any good? Fear not – the flavors are robust (especially the spicy ginger), and pumpkin seeds lend good and varied texture. As far as crunchy cookies go, Zema's madhouse has struck an admirable balance between good-for-you and good-tasting. 3.5/5.0

Asha Tea Hot ginger tea with goji berries: A mild but warming cup of ginger tea with fresh goji berries that add interest and sharpness. Two slices of very strong ginger top the beverage. I only wish they imparted more of their flavor. 3.0/5.0
