Berkeley Bowl Fig Newtowns: Berkeley Bowl sells an assortment of fig newtown-style cereal bars in their bulk section, from apricot to raspberry to, well, figs. I sampled both the raspberry and fig cookies and prefer the tart sweetness of the raspberry to the more ordinary, but still decent, fig. They're more dense and substantial than traditional fig newtowns, both in terms of the texture of the soft cookie and the fruit-chew-like interior. Big Island Candies Shortbread cookies: I was given this assortment of shortbread cookies as a present from visitors from Hawaii. Individually wrapped cookies, some dipped in chocolate, and all containing macadamia nuts. Also a chocolate covered brownie. As I wasn't able to sample most of them, I won't give a rating, but the shortbread I had was buttery and satisfying. Macadamia nuts add crunch and texture. Nice packaging.

Bitsy's Brainfood Sweet potato oatmeal raisin cookies: I was a fan of the zucchini gingerbread carrot cookies I previously purchased from this brand, so I decided to try another flavor from their line. The alphabet-shaped cookies are crunchy and dense and have a pleasantly spiced, lightly sweetened flavor, with just a hint of vegetable at the end.
