Uchi Cafe Strawberry milk with tapioca and pulp: Japanese convenience stores had a wide variety of coffee beverages to chose from; one surprising offering is their packaged tea and milk drinks containing tapioca, often available in the same refrigerated section as the coffee. Wallaby Organic Strawberry Kefir: I've noticed that kefir is growing in popularity, with many major yogurt brands getting into the market. Perhaps a way to appeal to a generation that grew up with Gogurt? This particular brand features a smooth and creamy yogurt-based drink thicker than other kefir I've had. Weis strawberry, watermelon, and lychee ice cream bar: One of several snacks I received on my Virgin Australia flight, this frozen treat had a unique combination of fruits along with a vanilla base. I found the fruit component to have a remarkably clean flavor, where all three fruits are easily identifiable. The ice cream base was so-so: more icy than creamy. YakiniQ Strawberry yuzu lemonade: A remarkably thirst-quenching summer drink, with strawberry seeds mixed throughout and citrus rind (in the same pulpy form as Asian citron tea) at the bottom. Well balanced; sweet and tart, and ultra fresh. One of the best beverages I’ve had in recent memory. Seasonal offering from this small cafe in the heart of Japantown in SF. 4.5/5.0
