Brooklyn Born Chocolate Salted Peanut milk chocolate peanut praline: I bought another chocolate bar from Brooklyn Born Chocolate. This one is a milk chocolate bar with bits of peanut and crunchy toasted rice throughout. It reminded me of a slightly elevated version of a Girls Scouts Tagalong cookie, without the biscuit base but with a similar chocolate peanut butter flavor. Slightly salted. Purchased from the Park Slope Food Coop. 3.5/5.0

Cheerios Multi-grain peanut butter Cheerios: On my last normcore grocery trip, I was tempted to purchase a childhood favorite: peanut butter cereal. A quick glance at the nutrition facts of Peanut Butter Crunch, though, made me think twice. Instead, I opted for the less colorful packaging of multi-grain Cheerios, which I assume is targeted towards adults like me (who enjoy junky sweetened cereal once in a while but also want to seem responsible and somewhat healthful). The cereal was actually really satisfying: it had a classic if unr... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Chimes peanut butter ginger chews: After sampling the surprisingly good mango ginger chews, I gave this unexpected flavor combination a try. Like most ginger candy, each is individually wrapped and dusted with a powdered coating, which prevents the candy from sticking too much to the wrapper. Small pieces of peanut are dispersed throughout the chew, and the nutty spicy combo overall works well. Three grams of sugar for a small chew seems like a lot, but in small quantities, this treat is good. 3.5/5.0

Clif Bar Peanut and Toffee Buzz: Peanut and toffee: not a very common flavor combination, but I think it should be after trying this Clif Bar. More than other snacks, Clif bars seem to be the most effective at keeping hunger at bay. This particular flavor goes one step further by including caffeine to help you through a mid-day slump. It has the chewy consistency and glossy coating you expect from a Clif Bar, and you could probably guess peanut and toffee if you did a blind taste test. It's sweeter than I would prefer but a... Crown Peanut Log: This exceptionally substantial candy bar comes from Georgia, where peanut logs are apparently a tradition. Having never heard of them before, I was surprised to find a white nougat interior hidden by a generous coating of roasted peanuts. The nougat melts in your mouth as only highly fatty snacks can do. Holding the peanuts to the chewy interior is a thin caramel layer. A few bites of this highly sweetened snack is enough, as it should be given that a serving size is only half the bar. In sm... Denroku Porippy Spicy Peanut Snack: I found these peanut snacks in what seemed to be the bar snack section, with a variety of nuts and dried seafood. I've had versions of this snack before in rice cracker mixes; it consists of a crispy rice cracker coating surrounding a single roasted peanut. It has a very unique sweet and savory quality, with a mix of seasonings and flavorings including honey and nori. Very tasty and affordable! Would definitely buy again. 4.0/5.0
