365 Chocolate Almond Pudding: I usually go straight to the snack aisle to look for new snacks to try, but I came across these pudding cups accidentally while walking through the dairy aisle at Whole Foods. While they are overly sweet (20g of sugar per cup), the flavor is great – creamy and nutty with a satisfyingly rich cocoa flavor. The texture is a little more set than your typical pudding cup, which I personally prefer. If it were less sweet, this would be my go-to snack on the rare case I'm looking for a chocolate... Morgenstern's Ginger Grapenut, Raspberry Cheesecake, and Mango Passion Rice Ice Cream: Morgenstern's, my favorite ice cream spot in NYC, has opened up an expansive shop at 88 West Houston, with an overwhelming number of flavors organized into categories like parlor favorites (including salt n' pepper pinenut and American egg), Bananas (including charred chocolate banana and banana kalamansi), and Misc (french fry, bread, and popcorn). I love options, but the menu is intimidating, even for me. This time, we tried three different scoops from three different categories. The gi... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Trader Joe's Ghosts & Bats Crispy Potato Snacks: These thinly-sliced potato crisps are light and definitely more like crispy crackers than potato chips. Very strong potato flavor. They taste the most like french fries of any potato snack I've purchased off the shelf largely because it has an aftertaste that is reminiscent of fried foods. The shapes are super cute and perfect for the Halloween season. If I were to bring snacks to a Halloween party, this would be it. 3.5/5.0

Tatun Crab King Crackers: I love seafood flavored snacks, which are always available in Asian supermarkets but sadly missing from our American grocery shelves. This bag of Crab King fried snacks from Hong Kong Supermarket in NYC's Chinatown was very inexpensive (a little under $2), and contains puffed up crab-shaped pieces, softer in texture than shrimp crackers, but with a satisfying crisp. They taste heavily of MSG, but also of a seasoned seafood powder that has a slight chili kick. I liked them a lot and wish t... (read more) 3.5/5.0

GT's Gingerade Kombucha: I've been a little sick recently and found this ginger kombucha to be very cleansing, with a good level of spicy ginger flavor balanced with lemon. It's a sweet beverage but still feels refreshing. Would recommend, even when not sick. 3.5/5.0

Lesser Evil Himalayan Salt and Apple Cider Vinegar Paleo Puffs: This is the second flavor of Paleo Puffs that I’ve tried, which are sometimes on sale at Whole Foods (that’s when I buy them). A more mild version salt and vinegar flavored chips, and much healthier at that, made without any grains and in puffed form (similar to cheese puffs, but more dense). It’s pretty tasty, and I would get it again. 3.5/5.0
