L.A. Burdick white chocolate mouse: A few weeks ago, I found a box of assorted chocolates on my desk. I'm almost certain it was left by mistake, but I waited a few days for them to be claimed before digging in. The box contained many different types of chocolates, a few much better than others. Pocky Demitasse: Stockier than your usual Pocky snack, these crackers are dark chocolate flavored biscuit covered in a generous layer of dark chocolate. The chocolate flavor is nice and bitter, and the snack feels substantial and rich despite its smaller size. Likely the best Pocky I've had. 4.0/5.0

Rogue Voodoo Doughnuts pretzel, raspberry, and chocolate ale: I generally don't drink beer, but I sampled this one in the name of snacks. This ale was inspired by a flavored doughnut from the Voodoo Doughnuts shops in Portland. The chocolate and raspberry flavor came through in the finish, and perhaps the pretzel flavor was captured in the earlier savory notes. Not something I can imagine drinking a full cup, but interesting.

Droste mint pastilles: Dutch half-dome-shaped chocolates with crystals of mint-flavored sugar sprinkled throughout. Chocolate has a good snap. Flavor is not bad but not especially special. 3.0/5.0

Q's Nuts Mexican chocolate pecans: Too often, chocolate nuts are completely covered in chocolate, making them more like candy bars than nuts. These pecans were more dusted than coated, with a chocolate powder that was textured and rich. Yet, the pecans remained the star of the snack. Very well balanced. 4.0/5.0

Pocky Chocolate Banana: Chocolate Pocky biscuits dipped in a "banana" coating. Ingredients say contains less than one percent of artificial flavors and banana powder...flavor matches description. Tastes like banana flavored Runts, which is very different than actual bananas. Too sweet and very artificial. 2.0/5.0
