Oorifood Premium Garlic Snack: Since moving to the Bay Area, I've been impressed with how well American grocery stores stock Asian snacks in their ethnic food aisles. Berkeley Bowl in particular has an array of both Japanese and Chinese staples, including dried seafood, shrimp crackers, and multiple varieties of rice crackers (even carrying their own in the bulk section). But one thing that I have missed is Korean snacks, which I had easy access to back in Cambridge, MA since I lived close to an HMart. Luckily, I recently discovered KP Market, a smaller but densely packed Korean grocery store in Oakland not too far from the 19th street BART stop. While I was there, I did my best to grab the most unusual looking snacks, including this Premium Garlic Snack. I wasn't sure what to expect, but upon first taste, I found them to be one of the best puffed corn snacks I've had to date. Sized similarly to Jax cheese puffs in diameter, but about half the length, these crispy and light puffs have a fantastic sweet glaze, faint roasted garlic aftertaste, and green speckles (parsley, according to the ingredients). A uniquely addictive sweet and savory snack. I sincerely hope that the nutrition facts are mislabelled, since this ~3 serving bag is listed as containing 10 servings, with 16g of fat per serving. Nonetheless, I will be sure to stock up on these next time I make a trip out to KP Market, and I recommend that you do too. 4.0/5.0
