Pocky Melon Pocky: I purchased this special packaged Pocky from Tsutaya Books in Meguro. The familiar biscuit sticks are coated in a waxy orange cantaloupe-flavored icing that tastes like melon candy. Very concentrated flavor and quite sweet, but I did enjoy it. One of the better melon-flavored snacks I've had. 3.5/5.0

Suntory Melon Pop Soda: I'm not sure what I expected from this atomic green soda, somehow even more neon green than Surge, the height of artificial soda in America. But I think I was craving some variety after not drinking any interesting beverages for some time. I purchased the bottle from a 100¥ discount vending machine. Tominga Melon Cream Soda: Purchased from Galco's in Los Angeles, this Japanese fruit soda is like a carbonated melon-flavored Calpico: intensely sweet and like a liquified starburst with its artificial fruit flavor and atomic green color. It has a slightly milky finish, with a white froth that collects at the top of the bottle. I've never had a soda like it before, and I probably don't want to have a soda like it again. 3.0/5.0
