Berryline Watermelon Froyo with Mochi: Watermelon and yogurt aren't two flavors I've imagined together, but Berryline expertly marries them into a wonderfully refreshing summer treat. Slightly tart but just sweet enough, the seasonal flavor is subtly impactful. The homemade mochi is good too, with a chewier consistency than the larger chains. 4.0/5.0

Good Belly cranberry watermelon probiotic juice drink: I was drawn to this product because I've never heard of a probiotic drink that was dairy-free. This company's selling point is the addition of probiotic cultures for \"renewing your digestive health.\" Whether this is effective I cannot say, but I can say that the juice is delicious, like the best fruit punch juice box you can remember having. The flavor is nostalgic (it contains only juice from concentrate, though it's all organic), but it still feels fresh and age appropriate. It's slightl... (read more) 4.0/5.0

N'ice Cream watermelon and mango sorbet: Located on Abbot Kinney in Venice, LA, this small shop offers an assortment of ice creams and sorbets. For a small, priced at $5, I was given two substantial scoops, both of very high quality. I was most impressed with the texture, which was perfectly smooth. The mango flavor was a bit faint but very clean, and the watermelon was especially distinct: a remarkably creamy take on a seasonal classic. Highly recommended. 4.0/5.0

Dominique Ansel Kitchen What-a-melon watermelon soft serve: Dominique Ansel celebrates the start of summer with a special watermelon soft serve, served in a fresh watermelon "taco" topped with thin seed-shaped chocolate. We braved the line of Instagram fanatics for 20 minutes in advance of the soft serve window opening at 11am at the West Village Dominique Ansel Kitchen. Admittedly, it's as photogenic as any Ansel dessert, with a mountainous swirl of glistening orange-pink sorbet. The soft serve itself had a concentrated melon flavor and great textu... Dinosaurs Watermelon and Lychee Shake: Dinosaurs is a small Vietnamese sandwich shop bordering the Castro in San Francisco. It has reasonably priced, tasty sandwiches (I especially recommend the meatball bahn mi) as well as fresh juices. I love watermelon, and I also love lychee, so their watermelon and lychee shake was an obvious choice for me. Rather than being flavored like lychee, the lychee comes in the form of chewy and slightly crunchy lychee jelly - the same rectangular kind you find in boba tea shops. The watermelon ... ba-nom-a-nom Watermelon “soft serve”: Specializing in “soft serve frozen fruit,” Ba-nom-a-nom is a Denver-based ice cream truck serving dairy-free, 100% fruit soft serve that falls somewhere in between sorbet and Italian ice. The soft serve has a whipped yet smooth crystallized texture. It tasted like fresh watermelon, which is exactly what it was. No added sugar. I was surprised at the texture since I didn’t know it wasn’t traditional soft serve, but it was a refreshing treat nonetheless. Pricy ($5) but decently generous. 3.5/5.0
