Ruger Chocolate Flavored Wafers: Purchased from the vending machine at work, this two-serving pack of wafers is surprisingly good. Packaged in Willy-Wonka gold foil, the wafers have a great crispy texture, and the amount of chocolate feels generous. Not a very healthy snack, but certainly one of the better vending machine options out there. 3.5/5.0

R.W. Knudsen spiced pear drink: While this juice consists predominantly of apple and pear juice from concentrate, the flavor is undeniably festive and perfect for the late fall. Spiced cinnamon and clove add to this well balanced drink, which is good hot or cold. Definitely on the sweet side, but I still enjoyed it. 4.0/5.0

Safeway Community Market Chocolate peanut butter maltballs: Massive multilayered malted milk ball with a malted inner core surrounded by a peanut butter filling, all encased in a glossy layer of milk chocolate. A much more interesting alternative to peanut butter cups. Doesn't have the same melt in your mouth texture other malted snacks may have due to the sheer volume of it. Saffron Road garlic parmesan lentil chips: An extremely addicting veggie chip snack with a savory cheese coating. Chips have great texture and are crunchy and light. Only downside is the small 4-portion bag size. Looking forward to trying other flavors. Purchased from Whole Foods. 4.0/5.0

Saffron & Rose Faloodeh and pistachio Turkish ice cream: Returning to this small ice cream shop after 3 years, I found Saffron & Rose has all grown up. Gone are the glass walls, replaced by an orange red drywall, and the generic white cups have been styled with their logo printed on the side. Also missing was the kind owner, who relentlessly handed me every flavor in the shop to sample (without me even asking). Samboy Atomic Tomato potato chips: This proudly Australian brand of ridged potato chips is a vending machine staple. I purchased them to use up a few coins before leaving the country. The atomic tomato flavor turns out to be ketchup with a prominent vinegar taste. The ridges are not as dense as American ridged chips like Ruffles. Overall, I found the chips to be surprisingly addicting though certainly not good for you. 3.0/5.0
