Sanritsu Genji Pie: Genji Pies are heart-shaped Palmier cookies that come in individually wrapped packages containing two cookies each. The flaky pastry is surrounded by a ring of sugar, and while the cookies are sweet, they aren't as sweet as most American versions and come in a more snackable size. Milk Bar Pie ice cream: Available at Whole Foods, this Milk Bar branded ice cream is strangely slightly smaller than a pint and tastes more like breakfast than pie, thanks to oat-like crumbles throughout. It’s very rich and sweet and reminds me of Friendly’s butter crunch, with a brown butter caramel flavor. The type of dessert you can enjoy a few scoops of before you realize it’s too rich to eat more — but those couple of scoops are pretty enjoyable. 3.5/5.0

Lotte Choco Pie: Chocolate covered nostalgia. Unfortunately not as good as I recall from my childhood. Cake is quite dry, but the marshmallow filling is satisfying, and the chocolate is thin. I appreciate that it's lightly sweetened, with 10g of sugar in a pie (much less than you would find in an equivalent American snack). 3.0/5.0

Trader Joe's pumpkin pie mochi flavored ice cream: 'Tis the season for an insane assortment of pumpkin flavored products at Trader Joe's, including pumpkin spiced pumpkin seeds. This TJ branded mochi ice cream is so similarly packaged to the Mikawaya brand they also carry that I wonder if it was a partnership. Straw Propeller Oh My Pumpkin Pie oatmeal: Not quite a snack, but I purchased this product from the Leanbox in lab to sustain myself for a few hours. Unfortunately, I misread the directions, thinking this was microwaveable after adding tap water. Instead, you are supposed to add boiling water. Nonetheless, I microwaved it for 2.5 minutes and mixed the combination of oats, raisins, pumpkin seeds, and sugary spice blend, including nutmeg and cinnamon.
